Aynhoe Park is a Grade I-listed 17th century country
house. Throughout its history Aynhoe has been rebuilt and
remodelled, first by Thomas Archer in 1700 and then, a century
later, by Sir John Soane. Its current owner, James Perkins, has
re-invented the house, bringing it into the 21st century yet
sympathetic to its history – and particularly sympathetic to
Soanes’ vision of what a country house should be. His restoration
has been recognised by the Georgian Society, who awarded him a
commendation in their 2009 Architectural Awards.

Why Annabel loves this property

Annabel thinks this is the most impressive Cotswold house to entertain guests and hold events.

THINGS TO DO

Excursions / Interests

Soho Farmhouse

Soho Farmhouse spans 100 acres of Oxfordshire countryside. It offers a wealth of activities for families, including horse riding, gym, tennis courts, swimming pools and boating.

Daylesford Organic Farm

Daylesford is probably the most famous farm shop in Britain. A retail heaven of organic gorgeousness on the edge of the Cotswolds, it has grown over the past 10 years into something between a mall and a Japanese temple, selling not just food and produce, but clothing, gardening equipment, homeware, yoga classes and spa treatments

The Chequers in Churchill

In the picture perfect village of Churchill, The Chequers is everything a traditional pub should be with its pretty Cotswold stone exterior and a muddy Land Rover outside. Except, step inside this pub and you’ll find something much more intriguing. A heady mix of the old and new. Expect modern cocktails to sit alongside local ales, and a menu that is packed with seasonally inspired dishes.
