Things-to-do

THINGS TO DO

Excursions / Interests

Carrasqueira Village

This is a unique little fishing village on the back of the Sado River, and well worth a visit with its picturesque fishing huts, and wooden jetties on stilts (cais palafita).

Comporta

Comporta village is only a 6 minute drive away from Carrasqueira, and offers a few nice shops (Loja do, Museo do arroz, Lavanda, Rice and Côté Sud) and restaurants. We recommend Dona Bia, known for its fabulous seafood, Museo do Arroz, great for after dinner drinks and music, and the recently opened Cavalarica which has inventive food based on local products.

Comporta Beaches

Comporta is a wild, totally preserved paradise of dunes, deserted beaches of golden sand, pristine blue sea and beautiful endless pine forests for guests to discover. Comporta Beach is only 4km from the house, but all of its beaches are just a short drive away. One can try horse riding on the beach, learn to surf in Carvahal beach (20 minute drive), cycle, enjoy the rice fields on canoe, watch the dolphins in the ocean but most of all just relax and enjoy the beautiful light and scenery.
